Aultman Farms
Aultman Farms is a family owned farm located near Greenville, Ohio in Darke County. We, Matt and Morgan, along with our two children Sophia and William operate our small farm. Matt works off the farm as a County Commissioner and at a local feed mill, as well as helping his grandfather, Larry, and father, David, with daily farm operations on their ground. Morgan is a Chemistry and Physics teacher at Ansonia High School. Sophia is in Jr. High while William is in the fifth grade.
We raise row crops, hay, produce, mums, cut flowers, Nigerian Dwarf goats, chickens, and Californian, New Zealand, Rex, and Mini Rex rabbits. On any given year you can find corn, soybeans, or wheat in the majority of our fields, with our remaining acreage in pumpkins, cut flowers, or other specialty crops. Every summer/fall we are heavily involved in the local produce market specializing in fall decorating and pumpkins. Last year we sold more than 50 tons of pumpkins through our backyard market, that is a lot of pumpkins! In addition to plants we also raise many warm and fuzzy little animals.
Morgan is a fan of goats and keeps a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats that she breeds. Morgan also milks the does and is currently making goats milk soap that will be cured out soon and available for sale. We keep a flock of chickens for egg production, Golden Comets and during the spring and summer the kids raise turkeys for one of their 4-H projects. Finally on our little farm we are in the process of building a competitive rabbitry. Currently we are breeding New Zealands in White and Broken, Californians, Rex in Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, and Black in solids, brokens, and otters, and Mini Rex in Black, Blue, Castor, and Tortoise in solids, brokens, and otters. We sell rabbits for both meat, show, and reptile food.
We encourage anyone to contact us to schedule a day to come out to the farm to purchase any of our livestock/goods.
